Rebecca Trades Me Space Alien in Ship for Box of Lost Memories

Rebecca DeVere

My ever-annoying interview questions.

At least I actually thought of the interview questions this time and didn't try and make the person trading with me write their own weird questions and then answer them. I did that to Nik. Ha!

Q. Do you like sandwiches? If yes, what's your favorite kind?
A. I absolutely loved grilled sandwiches and I am a sandwich freak.

Sara Trades Me "Two Red Screamers" for "Mona Didn't Need Bling"

Sara and Rosalie - the skirt controversy finally over.

Sara showed up at the May First Thursday art walk with a surprise trade for me.

Seeing her brought back all kinds of memories. Let me tell you about the last time I saw Sara:

Temple's Story about the Box of Lost Memories

Before she discovered the joy of spraypaint or becoming a geisha, artist Temple Terkildsen, created this box assemblage after consoling a friend. The funeral had left a large gap in her friend's life, her mother being gone forever, now. Lots of sushi and alcohol, getting drunk and uncermoniously puking on the heater, such is an homage to life.

Staci's story about "Mona Didn't Need Bling":

Isn't it funny how some things just come together? Take my "Mona Didn't Need Bling" shadow box for instance.

Dangerine Trades Me Finding Lost Memories for Abandond Artist Sketchbook

I got the awesome Dangerine shadow box the other day along with an email from her that said he and Nik have been working on their next Sauce trades.

I can't wait!

I should also mention that she is one of only two or three people who have actually supplied the 14 or so different ways to contact them that I request with each bARTer Sauce trade. She's detail oriented. That's for sure. TEACH ME!

She was kind enough to answer my dumb questions and also tell me the dumbest thing Nik has ever done. he he he

Staci Trades Me "Mona Didn't Need Bling" Shadow Box for "Wood Face"

Staci and Rosalie doin' a bARTer Sauce trade

Staci often shows at the OK Hotel during First Thursday so she wanders in to the studio pretty much every month (okay, every month for sure) and we've gotten to know each other a little bit.

She's been teasing me for awhile now saying that she had a trade for me...and she lived up to her word at the March Art Walk. I remember Mona from a shadow box show that the OK Hotel did a few months back. I liked it then. And I like it now.

Susannah gives me a horrible statue of a frog riding a turtle and is sad to learn she has to take something in exchange

Hot Turtle on Turtle Action

At work one day, Susannah surprised me with a trade for a horrible statue of a frog riding a turtle.

Then I surprised her by letting her know I'd be bringing something in to leave on her desk in exchange! I love surprises!

Julia gives me four collages for the Jackelope Diorama and "The Heart of the Room"

bARTer Sauce Trade

I have in fact already traded "The Heart of the Room" away. I had no idea how quickly it would go.

I feel a little guilty about it to be honest. I had no way of knowing though. It all happened by accident.

Matador Diorama

Matador Diorama

I found this at Killorn "mark up" O'Neill's garage sale.

I was really excited to find out that I'm not the only person in the world who makes DIORAMAS. That's right. I picked up a Jackelope diorama and some kind os matador with a picture of a seal behind him. They're a set. Unless someone only wants one. Then they are completely separate entities.

Say what you want, they were a buck each.

The wonderous Jackelope.
