Animal vocabulary toast from Japan

OK so I'm a tad intimidated by this story thing, it being my first time and all. I'll tell a story about stories.

When I was a kid my grandfather used to tell me stories all the time. They always started "Once upon a time there was a girl named Eva" and they never really went anywhere but that didn't matter because I was the main character and that was exciting in itself.

After a few minutes he would pretend to fall asleep and make exaggerated snore noises. This was the most hilarious thing EVER. I never got tired of it. After I "shook him awake" he would finish the story, which he always ended with "And that's the end of MAA story".

I can't remember a single actual story. They didn't matter. It was the telling that did.
