Laura Trades Me Super Bright Kisses for Jazz Singer Who Tried to Eat Eric's Girlfriend

Traded With:
Laura and Rosalie doin' a Sauce trade

I love the fact that Laura chose the Jazz singer painting as what she wanted for Super Bright Kisses.

To my eye -- they're pretty similar. Same general color scheme. Big lips.

Laura brought her son to the First Thursday Art Walk (September 2008) in my studio and I tried unsucessfully to bond with him. He's a super-super-cutie-face though. And that's saying a lot since I generally don't like kids all that much. I guess it's not that I don't like them -- it's just that they are really loud and irritating and most of the time they smell bad. Now, that could be said about a lot of computer programmers as well but I don't like most of them either. So, I guess what I'm saying is, at least I'm consistant.

Laura is a potter. Or a ceramicist. Or .....I guess I'll go with my first instinct - potter. The last craft show we were both at together I bought two mugs from her that both said, "Mom." They are lovely and I drink out of them on a regular basis even though I am not -- nor have I any intention of becoming - a mother. I live by my own rules, baby.

She sells her ceramic schtuff on Etsy -- that's how we met. There's a local group called EtsyRAIN that you can join if you live in the area and have an Etsy shop.

What's an Etsy shop you ask?

Well, first, I must say that since you asked that, you are not my kind of person. Then, I would say, "JUST KIDDING!" And then I might go on to explain that it's a website for all handmade items. You can set up your own shop and sell stuff that you make. Then, I would turn around and talk to someone who shares more of my interests -- leaving you alone, standing in the corner by yourself -- wishing you had made better decisions.

My Etsy shop is Ugly Baby. My husband Doug and I sell Shower Art - waterproof art you can hang in your shower with a suction cup. Or anywhere else. We're no dictators.
