I met Adam at a Christmas party where a fight broke out over who got to trade me for Arndt Bow's tombstone.
No one got it...and no one was injured...they had to agree that neither of them would trade me for it for the sake of their friendship.
Adam and Ashley are awesome and artistic and make fantasticfortune telling cards that we have hanging all around our bathroom mirror. I invited (forced) them to come to Laffhole to offer me a trade item live on stage. They did it. And WON!
Adam, of Adam and Ashley, offered me a lamp made of popsicle sticks and rhinestones that he claims...whispers to him at night. He chose the Cockfight painting (wisely, I might add - it was awesome).
This trade took place at Laffhole. It's a weekly Indie comedy show that recently moved from CHAC to Chop Suey. This was my first live trade that I've done onstage. I brought three items with me: the tombstone, the "How to Cook Like A Stud" cookbook and a painting of a cockfight. The idea was that all of the people offering up trades would tell a story about it onstage and then the audience would pick, by round of applause, who I should trade with. Then, the winner got their pick of which of the three items they wanted to take home with them. It was pretty cool for a first attempt at this thing...and at the end, people were yelling, "Cockfight! Cockfight!" And that can never be bad.
